Leonid Savin. Myth, Utopia and reality of Plutiversum

In order to draw the future contours of the world’s geographic space within the perspectives of the revolutionary struggle and political ideology we must start with a clear methodological structure.

My thesis is a fairly simple one and is based on a proposition by Georges Sorel about the dichotomy between social and political formations. He divided this into two types: (1) those which had a myth as the basis for their ideology, and (2) those which appealed to utopian ideas. The first category he attributed to revolutionary socialism, where the true revolutionary myths are not descriptions of phenomena, but the expression of human will. The second category is utopian projects, which he attributed to bourgeois society and capitalism.

Interview with Mr Leonid SAVIN of the International Eurasian Movement

The main idea and goal of the International Eurasian Movement is to establish a multipolar world order, where there will be no dictatorship of the U.S. anymore or of any other country or actor of world politics. In the sector of ideology we strongly reject (neo)liberalism and the globalization process as its derivative. We agree that we (as well as other nations) need a constructive platform for our alternative future. In the search of it, our work is directed to dialogue with other cultures and peoples who understand the meaning and necessity of conservative values in contemporary societies. Speaking about Russian reality, we are heirs and assigns to the former eurasianists (this ideology was born in the 1920s): Piotr Savitsky, Nikolay Trubetskoy, Nikolay Alekseev as well as Lev Gumilev – the famous Soviet scholar. They all studied historical processes and proposed a unique vision of our history, separate from the eurocentric science approach.

Leo Savin: Syria oil perspective

No matter what else is said about the causes of the conflict in Syria, there is no denying that among them is the fundamental fact of how it is connected with petropolitics and the interests of  global capital. Now let's step aside from flood of discussions about the tactics of guerrilla warfare and analysis formed of the situation with the methods of propaganda through Social Networks and hidden religious motives and look at these energy concerns.

Syria: oil factor

No matter what else is said about the causes of the conflict in Syria, there is no denying that among them is the fundamental fact of how it is connected with petropolitics and the interests of  global capital. Now let's step aside from flood of discussions about the tactics of guerrilla warfare and analysis formed of the situation with the methods of propaganda through Social Networks and hidden religious motives and look at these energy concerns.

The state of affairs of the regional powers, which are the most important players in energy politics present Iraq and Iran on one side of the conflict and Qatar and Saudi Arabia on the other. Syria lies in a strategic position amidst possible regional infrastructure projects, and trunk pipelines that could link the region of the greater Middle East to Western Europe.

Simple geography determines that Syria is in a more advantageous position for this pupose than Turkey through which the Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan pipeline lies. The south Caucasus is even further north and the Russian Federation has strategic interests there.

So, Syria is the only fall-back position as an alternative for a transit country. Besides having its own oil fields, Syria's leadership is quite aware of the importance of their country's geographic location.

Leonid Savin Network centric strategies in the Arab spring

Military and science specialists in the U.S. have permanently adapted their forces and departments to the new conditions. Starting from aggression in Vietnam and ending with subversive activities in Latin America, Washington investigated tactical and strategic mistakes and made corresponding conclusions. But it became possible to speak of transition to the new form of conflict only after the war in Persian Gulf in 1991, when the U.S. with the help of telecommunication technologies have shown to whole world its military capabilities. Herewith the strikes were made not only to military infrastructure of Iraq, but to critical sites – communication system and energy resources, civilian objects, and in parallel the propaganda campaign was held. The model, proposed by colonel John Warden, named “the war from inside to outside” and the theory of five strategic rings, proceeded theoretical and practical justification in the following conflicts, particularly, in Yugoslavia. Thus, due to efforts of admiral Owens, Johnson and vice-admiral Sibrovski, appeared the concept of net-centric warfare, that reflected those changes, that occurred in commercial and information environment of the U.S. Having logically assumed, that these changes will necessarily affect the military sphere, the Pentagon itself began to intensively adapt information systems, armaments, and the most important, intellectual personnel of new generation warfare. Parallel to this, workers of the RAND corp.

REPUBLICAN FURIES

The US foreign policy usually develops in several ways which differ in terms of methods used to achieve this or that goal on the international scene. Right-wing Republicans, or neoconservatives, are known for promoting the most aggressive approaches in foreign policy: they see Russia, as well as some other countries, as the quintessence of evil. Many of them are members of radical protestant sects. There are two most prominent figures among them: the former Alaska governor Sarah Palin and Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen.
Sarah Palin took a break in her political career after her oldest daughter Bristol had announced her pregnancy exactly during her mother`s election campaign of 2008. Since Palin had always been known for her traditional views on marriage and abortion, her daughter’s pregnancy could not but affect her ratings. But what is really worrying about Palin is her links to a fundamentalist eschatological, Pentecostal church which is outside of the mainstream of modern Christian denominations.
